In Moments (2024)

A lot of the time when I write music, I always write with a sense of "feel" and how the music natrually wants to progress. This "absolute music" is how I feel I get alot of my ideas out and express myself in a more true way. This piece is no different, having orignally been a duo of piano sketches I had done.

In Moments is a work that, like paintings, depicts separate scenes of emotion, which I imagine being like the mindsets we find ourselves in every day...in these moments. Within are 2 mindsets that are portrayed and explored :

I. A deepness... depicts the profound thoughts one finds themselves having in moments of solitude and melancholy, which fluctuates in intensity throughout, being vast then joyous.

II. And we dance along! is the lighter and more playful side of thought whenever we feel cheerful and want to move around a bit! This joy does get overzealous but returns to it's playfulness and continues on to be more joyful. It ends with calm contentness with a bit of a twist at the end!
